Choose by sensor type

A handheld digital anemometer gives an instant, repeatable wind speed reading where guesswork used to do — whether you are checking a spraying window, commissioning an HVAC duct, or monitoring outdoor conditions.

Outdoor · General

Cup anemometers

Rotating cups measure open-air wind speed directly, with no probe to aim. Simple, robust and ideal for everyday outdoor readings — see the MT-905V.

Indoor · Low velocity

Hot film anemometers

A heated sensor on a telescopic probe detects subtle airflow changes, sensitive down to 0.1 m/s. Built for HVAC ducting and cleanroom diagnostics — see the GT8916.

Vane · Multi-reading

Flow / vane anemometers

A rotating vane on a probe reads wind speed and direction, with temperature and humidity logged at the same time — see the GT8907.

Field · Multi-parameter

Pocket weather meters

Wind speed plus barometric pressure, altitude and light level in a single pocket unit — ideal for fieldwork and outdoor weather checks — see the GM8910.

Where anemometers are used

Wind speed measurement matters wherever airflow affects safety, compliance, productivity or plant health.

🌿

Agricultural spraying

Check wind speed before and during spraying to stay within safe application conditions and avoid drift onto adjacent crops or water bodies.

🏗️

HVAC & ventilation

Commission and verify duct airflow rates, fan performance, and supply/extract balance — especially with the GT8907 and GT8916 probe models.

🏭

Industrial & cleanrooms

The GT8916's hot film sensor detects airflow down to 0.1 m/s — essential for verifying cleanroom air changes and laminar flow equipment.

🌤️

Weather & field monitoring

The GM8910 adds barometric pressure and altitude to wind and temperature — a compact multi-tool for fieldwork, surveys, and site assessments.

🚁

Drone & UAV operations

Check live wind speed before launch and monitor conditions during flight — a pocket anemometer is a standard piece of kit for responsible drone pilots.

Marine & outdoor safety

Sailors, paragliders, and outdoor event managers use anemometers to judge safe operating conditions before heading out or setting up.

Frequently asked questions about anemometers

Common questions answered in plain language.

An anemometer measures wind speed. Multifunction models also measure related readings such as temperature, humidity, barometric pressure or air flow rate, which makes them useful for weather monitoring, ventilation checks, agricultural spraying conditions and outdoor safety limits.
A cup anemometer, such as the MT-905V, uses spinning cups to measure open-air wind speed outdoors. A hot film anemometer, such as the GT8916, uses a heated sensor on a probe to measure low-velocity airflow indoors or inside ducts, down to about 0.1 m/s, which suits HVAC and cleanroom work.
For everyday outdoor wind speed readings, the MT-905V mini cup anemometer or the GM8910 pocket weather meter cover the typical 0–40 m/s range and are compact enough for daily field use. The GT8907 adds wind direction and data logging for more demanding outdoor monitoring.
The GT8907 with its extendable vane probe and the GT8916 with its hot film probe are both suited to ducted and HVAC airflow checks, with the GT8916's hot film sensor giving higher sensitivity down to 0.1 m/s for low-velocity work.
