How to Choose the Right Air Supply Technology
The single most important factor in blower selection is understanding your pressure requirement and flow requirement simultaneously. These two parameters together determine the correct technology family — not power rating alone. The table below maps application type to the correct technology and the relevant Ecotao product range.

South Africa altitude note: All blower performance specifications are published at sea-level conditions. Sites above 1,000 m — including most of Gauteng, Mpumalanga and the Free State Highveld — require a volumetric flow correction. At 1,500 m above sea level, a blower must move approximately 20% more air by volume to deliver the same oxygen mass as at sea level. Blower and Diffuser: A System, Not Two Products
A blower and its diffuser must be selected together. Fine bubble membrane diffusers add approximately 30 mbar backpressure the blower must overcome, and the diffuser’s oxygen transfer efficiency determines how much airflow the system requires. Selecting a blower without specifying the diffuser leads to an undersized blower (insufficient dissolved oxygen) or an oversized one (wasted energy).
