The kit is used to detect the presence of coliform bacteria, and has an  activity for adding a small amount of collected water to a sample tube,  incubating it for 24 to 48 hours, and observing results; a color change  indicates the presence of coliforms. The kit has materials to perform 25 tests for hands-on learning, and includes an instructions and material  safety data sheet (MSDS) packet for product information and handling  procedures.

Coliform Agar ISO ready-to-use plates

Chromogenic medium for detection and enumeration and coliform bacteria in water, according to Coliform Agar ISO is the new culture medium enumerating coliform bacteria and  E. coli  in water samples with low bacterial background flora to replace Lactose TTC agar in accordance to the ISO 9308-1 (effective on Sept 16th, 2014).

Coliform Agar ISO  contains enzymes that allow the  simultaneous identification of several microorganisms in 24 hours, by defined colors of the colonies. Coliform bacteria and E. coli potential pathogens found in samples with low background flora such as drinking water, disinfected pool water and finished water from drinking water treatment plants.

The kit includes 5 tests for total coliform and E. coli bacteria in drinking water. No incubation equipment is required, with results available in 44 to 48 hours at room temperature (24 hours if incubated). Coliforms are indicated by the colour change and E. coli with the supplied UV penlight.
