Biosecurity – related equipment
Due to to the coronavirus outbreak, now a pandemic, there is increasing emphasis on the following for personal and business health and biosecurity.
See also the ULV foggers and thermal fogging equipment that we supply. These are placed under agriculture as they are used in medical and pest control applications.
Virkon
Virkon and Halamid serve quote similar but also different functions based on their MSDS safety precautions.
For Virkon S usage:
Avoid breathing dust/ fume/ gas/ mist/ vapours/ spray. Wash skin thoroughly after handling.Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.Avoid release to the environment.Wear protective gloves. IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water.IF INHALED: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/ physician.Specific treatment (see supplemental first aid instructions on this label). If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice/ attention. Take off contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Dispose of contents/ container to an approved waste disposal plant.

Respiratory Protection Respirator must be worn if exposed to dust. Recommended Filter TypeP2Hygiene Measures Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Environmental exposure controls The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil.

Accessories and equipment
- Temperature monitoring in individual and business settings. This is usually an infrared thermometer, (non-contact (contactless?) of body) for forehead temperature detection and measurement
- Hand sanitizer options – suitable chemicals for sanitizing hands for family and staff members.
- Gloves or other methods to prevent cross contamination via the hands.
- Disposable face masks – 3 ply as cheap options for personal use in public areas.
- KN95 face masks for a higher level of biosecurity needed in some contexts such as for use by health-care professionals.
