Heating and cooling heat exchanger
Compared to direct heating, with a lower than 1:1 conversion to heat energy, heat pumps are close to 4.5:1.
The heat pump can not only transform electric energy into thermal energy, but can also pump energy in the air to raise its heating/cooling capacity. It is an efficient energy-saving thermal equipment solution with COP as high s 4.5 under some conditions. So, 1 kilowatt of power consumed can generate 4.5kw of effective heating capacity. This advantage make it an ideal heater for heating large water bodies. The heat exchangers are usually corrosion resistant titanium which is suitable for salt water and the refrigerant is pollution-free R407c/R410a.
For many systems, both heating and cooling capacity are needed, depending on the season.
