Micropore diffuser aeration hose
Diffuser or aeration hose is for introducing air and oxygen into hauling tanks, culture tanks, lakes or wherever more air than air stones is needed.
The 10mm ID micropore diffuser hoses is the most popular. Below is a 10mm ID hose releasing air. The clear PVC hose is a thick wall, 12mm ID hose. The Tee can be 10mm to 13mm depending on the application.
The pipe is made with numerous pores to create maximum fine bubbles which slowly release in the water. A pressure resistance of only 30cm (12″, 30 mbar) of H2O at normal flow rates when new. Diffuser lengths of up to 50cm (20′) per inlet are possible at low airflow rates. At higher flow rates pressure may be 70 mbar and up to 1 meter of hose can be used. The bubbles are reported at 0.5 to 2mm diameter for fresh water and 0.8 to 3mm diameter for sea water.
The 10mm pipe can handle up to 50 LPM per meter of hose (30-50LPM range), while
the 13mm ID hose can handle up to 80 LPM per meter of hose (50-80 LPM range)
(LPM = liters per minute)
This product is similar to the Aero-Tube from the USA.
